Abstract

The research aimed to determine the level of farmers’ knowledge of the concept of sustainable agricultural development in the Massa region, the number of farmers is 160, and a sample of (64) respondents was selected, representing 40% of total. One of most important results research reached is the extension services provided by state and agricultural extension in field Sustainable agricultural development was weak and this may be due to lack of mentors’ agriculturalists adequately, in addition to economic conditions the country is going through. It became clear the farmers’ attitudes towards agricultural extension were weak and this may be due to weakness of effective role of extension. It became clear that there is a weakness in the attitudes of the respondents towards the concept of environmental sustainability and this may be due to interaction This concept, along with other concepts, showed there was a great willingness among respondents to participate in environmental activities if they were offered to participate in those activities. It also became clear there was no relationship between personal factors and totality of practices for preserving available resources to achieve sustainable agricultural development in the research sample.
