The study aims to identify the food gap in the wheat crop in Libya by studying some economic indicators for wheat production in Libya and estimating the general trend during the period (1990-2019) as the agricultural production sector contributes to providing job opportunities and decent livelihoods for the rural population and others, as well as providing the necessary raw materials in many industries and the export revenues it achieves that support financial resources from foreign currencies, the results obtained from the logarithmic double function indicated that the independent variables of the amount of domestic production, the amount of available consumption and agricultural GDP are consistent with the economic logic in terms of reference during the study period (1990-2019), and statistically acceptable based on the values of (t), and it is noted that there is an inverse relationship between the amount of production and the size of the gap for the wheat crop, as well as for the agricultural GDP, while the amount of available consumption there is a direct relationship between it and the size of the food gap for the wheat crop.
