The extent to which the biology book for the first secondary grade in Libya contains life skills

The current study aimed to identify the life skills that can be included in the content of the biology textbook for the first year of secondary school in Libya, and the extent to which the content of the book includes the life skills under study. In order to achieve these goals, the researchers used the content analysis method within the framework of a descriptive analytical approach, by preparing an analysis list that included Five main areas of life skills: preventive, environmental, scientific, manual, technological, and social. It included (56) items (indicators), and the results of the study reached: The content of the book includes all the life skills under study except environmental skills, and it did not receive any significant repetitions. Preventive skills came first with a frequency of (29) and a percentage of (60.42%) , Technological skills came second with a number of (10) occurrences and a percentage of (20.83%) , Manual scientific skills came third with a frequency of (7) and a percentage of (14.58%) , Skills came fourth and last. Social studies with two frequencies and a percentage of (4.17%) , The study recommended the necessity of developing secondary school biology curricula in light of life skills.
