Abstract

The study aimed at detecting the images of the prominent women in the novel Coughing knight,  of Wafa Bouaissi, and the various components of the novel in order to trace their dimensions, in an attempt to elucidate what is said about it, and to decipher the surface and deep meanings and purposes of the novel, through the semiotic method seeking for signs and their effects, the connotations of names, the prominence of some influential female characters, and the suffering of most eastern societies from the scourge of war.، The research concluded with a number of results, the most important of which is the continuation of the authority of male culture in Arab and non-Arab societies, and the tyranny of dramatic scenes that portrayed the suffering of women with the most severe types of oppression and injustice, and emerged in the novel character (Masoma), which represented the icon of images in its uniqueness and support for all women in the blog, it is like mountains in its strength and glory, and the aroma of Afghan incense nicer and softer.
